The Office of the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Timothy Harris, has announced that the Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis, following the heavy rains and high winds from hurricane Maria, had approved the declaration of Wednesday, September 20, 2017, as a one-off public holiday in St. Kitts and Nevis to be designated as "National Clean-up Day".

The aforementioned declaration of Wednesday, September 20, 2017, as a one-off public holiday in St. Kitts and Nevis, thus further amends the list of official non-working public holidays in St. Kitts and Nevis for the calendar year 2017 as announced by the Office of the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, earlier this year (2017-01-23), and which was already twice amended earlier this year (2017-03-31 and 2017-03-16), with a third recent attempt being ruled-out (2017-08-30).
