Zimbabwe's Home Affairs Ministers, Ignatius M. C. Chombo, has gazetted the annual announcement of the dates for the 2018 non-working public holidays in Zimbabwe in terms of the Zimbabwe Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act (Chapter 10:21).
The aforementioned announcement in the General Notice 491 of 2017 of the dates for the 2018 non-working public holidays in Zimbabwe, as usual (2016-09-18, 2015-08-31, 2014-07-28, 2013-06-29, 2013-02-04 and 2012-08-01), does not include any special public holidays that the President has the power to declare ("This list does not include any days which the President may declare to be public holidays in terms of Section 2 (2) of the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act (Chapter 10:21),").
Curiously, last month's (2017-08-19) announcement by Zimbabwe's Home Affairs Minister, Ignatius Chombo, that the government of Zimbabwe had amended the annual list of non-working public holidays in Zimbabwe by declaring February 21 as Robert Gabriel Mugabe National Youth Day, a new annual non-working public holiday in Zimbabwe, in honour of Robert Mugabe, in not included in yesterday's gazette entry listing the dates for the 2018 non-working public holidays in Zimbabwe.
