The Bénin Minister of Labour and of the Public Service, Adidjatou Mathys, has released a communiqué, signed by her Chief of Staff, Victorin Honvoh, announcing that Monday, June 6, 2022, had been declared a non-working public holiday throughout the Bénin on account of Pentecost Monday.
As per the aforementioned communiqué, "À l’occasion de la fête de Pentecôte, la journée du lundi 06 juin 2022 est déclarée fériée, chômée et payée sur toute l’étendue du territoire national".
The declaration of Monday, June 6, 2022, as a public holiday throughout the Bénin, is in line with the list of annual non-working public holidays in the Benin for the calendar year 2022 (2022-01-02) and with the "loi n°90-019 du 27 juillet 1990 fixant les fêtes légales en République du Bénin".
