The government of Mainland China has announced that Hong Kong would declare 2 days of public holidays, July 1 and 2, 1997, to celebrate the handover of Hong Kong from the UK to China.
The same announcement include a schedule of Hong Kong public holidays for the second half of 1997, and for the calendar year 1998.
