The 1999 public holidays for Christmas Island have been announced. Of particular interest, the ANZAC day public holiday which, falling on a weekend in 1999, will obey the Western Australia State day in lieu rules.
The published list also specifies the dates of the 2 Muslim public holidays in Christmas Island; Hari Raya Puasa (End of Ramadan) on January 19, and Hari Raya Haji (Feast of Sacrifice) on March 29.
The published announcement also includes dates for Norfolk Island, but not for the Cocos (Keeling) Islands as it usually does.
