(Posted on Wednesday, December 15, 1999)

Source: Honorable Cámara de Diputados (Santiago)

The government of Chile has signed into law the declaration of Friday, December 31, 1999, as a one-off nationwide public holiday (vigente en todo el territorio nacional).

The Law 19.656, Declara feriado legal el día 31 de Diciembre de 1999, thus supercedes the recently re-instated December 31 sectorial bank holiday (16-Apr-1998).
