Ukraine's Parliament has passed into law the abolition of November 7, October Revolution, public holiday.
The gazetted law, Act No. 1421-XIV of 1 February 2000 to amend section 73 of the Labour Code (Text No. 53), will take effect as of February 25, 2000, meaning that, effective immediately, the anniversary of the October Revolution shall no longer be a public holiday in the Ukraine.
