President, Marc Ravalomanana, declared tomorrow, Thursday, August 9, 2007, as a one-off public holiday to coincide with the first day of the Indian Ocean Games sporting event.
As per the terms of the Décret N° 2007-730, due to the tight deadine between the aforementioned decision and the date of the Thursday, August 9, 2007, public holiday, the decree will take effect immediately, before its official gazetting (Article 2: En raison de l’urgence ... le présent décret entre en vigueur dès sa publication radiodiffusée et/ou télévisée ou par affichage indépendamment de son insertion au Journal officiel de la République).
