The government of Barbados has announced that all Government offices, except for the essential services, will close at 3:00 p.m. this coming Friday, July 31, 2009.
According to the text of the announcement, this was decided in order to alleviate anticipated traffic congestion as a result of the two upcoming public holidays, Emancipation Day on Saturday, August 1, 2009, and Kadooment Day, on Monday, August 3, 2009.
