Earlier this morning, Guinea's military junta has decreed that tomorrow, Monday, September 28, 2009, would be a one-off public holiday to commemorate the 1958 referendum results in Guinea.

As a result of the "non" winning the referendum in Guinea, Guinea became the first French African colony to gain independence.
