Jamaica's Ministry of Labour has released its list of the official 2009 public holidays.
It is interesting to note that one of the public holidays falling on a Saturday (Labour Day on May 23), was given a day in lieu public holiday on the following Monday, for the first time since the JIS clarified matters to the contrary in the mid-80's.
