Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister, Igor Chudinov, has signed a decree declaring the dates of the upcoming Orozo Ait (End of Ramadan) and Kurman Ait (Feast of Sacrifice) public holidays, which shall be observed on Sunday, September 20 and Friday, November 27, 2009, respectively.
As per paragraph 2 of article 115 of the 2004 Labour Code of of Kyrgyzstan, we expect the day after the End of Ramadan public holiday, Monday, September 21, 2009, to be declared an additional public holiday.
Last month (05-Aug-2009), Kyrgyzstan’s Spiritual Department of Muslims had approved the dates for the month of Ramadan for 2009; beginning on Friday, August 21, 2009, and finishing on Saturday, September 19, 2009.
