The President of Ivory Coast, Laurent Gbagbo, has declared Friday, October 29, 2010, as a one-off non-working public holiday (jour férié, chômé et payé sur toute l'étendue du territoire national).
The aforementioned public holiday was declared to allow time for voters to get their voter's card for the upcoming elections. Note that, earlier, President Gbagbo had also announced today and tomorrow as public holidays for the same purpose, but these 2 public holidays were never confirmed.
