Chad's Comité National des Festivités du Cinquantenaire (CONACE) has announced that as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Chad's independence, Tuesday and Wednesday, January 11 and 12, 2011, had been declared public holidays.

Early last summer (05-Jul-2010), Chad's Conseil des Ministres had announced that the August 11, 2010, National Day public holiday would be postponed by 6 months to be observed on January 11, 2011, instead.

The declaration of the aforementioned public holidays is contained in the décret N°1733/PR/PM/2009 as well as the supplemental décret N°148/PR/PM/2010, which specify that "Les journées du 11 et 12 Janvier sont chômées et férié sur l’ensemble du territoire national".
