The Governor of Iran's capital, Tehran, Morteza Tamaddon, has announced that the government in its Sunday session agreed to declare 2 additional public holidays, on Wednesday and Thursday, December 1 and 2, 2010, due to the expected peak of pollution expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In addition, Governor Tamaddon.added that, from today, all government offices in Tehran will close one hour earlier than their regular work time.
Last week, Iranian authorities had also declared a one-day public holiday for Wednesday, November 24, 2010, in the capital, Tehran. As was the case in the past (22-Nov-2010 and 07-Jul-2009), all public organizations, banks, schools and universities will be closed Wednesday due to high pollution.
