Earlier today, the Malawi Ministry of Local Government announced that the government of Malawi had decided to declare a nation-wide public holiday on Friday, September 10, 2010, on account of the upcoming Eid Ul Fitr celebrations marking the end of the month of Ramadan.
It is safe to assume that this will be an occasion for the MAM (Muslim Association of Malawi) to renew its calls for the declaration of the Eid-ul-Qurban and the day for the birth of their Prophet Muhammad, as official public holidays (07-Jul-2007).
