The Prime Minister of Mauritius, Navin Ramgoolam, has asked cabinet to declare Monday, January 3, 2011, as an additional non-working public holiday.
This decision, coming a couple of weeks only after the official declaration of 2011 public holidays in Mauritius (19-Jun-2010), was due to the (late) realization that the annual public holidays of January 1 and 2 both fell on a weekend in 2011.
