Yesterday afternoon, Nicaragua's Minister of Labour, Jeannette Chávez, issued a communique declaring that Monday, November 2nd, 2010, would be a full-day public sector holiday.
Contrary to what happened last year (31-Oct-2009), this year's full-day November 2nd (Día de los Difuntos) holiday is limited to the public sector (todos los trabajadores y empleadores del sector público, entes descentralizados y empresas adscritas al estado).
The private sector, as is the usual case in Nicaragua, will only get a half-day All Souls' Day public holiday in the afternoon of November 2nd.
