The Government of Gibraltar has issued the "Bank and Public Holidays (No.2) Order 2011" (LN. 2011/189) which sets forth the bank holidays and public holidays for Gibraltar in the calendar year 2012.

As part of the aforementioned legislation which sets forth the bank holidays and public holidays for Gibraltar in the calendar year 2012, the Spring Bank Holiday was moved to Monday, June 4, 2012, while an additional one-off public holiday was added on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Currently, the following countries have declared a one-off public holiday to commemorate the royal diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the throne: The UK (27-Dec-2009), the Isle of Man (10-Sep-2010), Jersey (29-Sep-2010), the Cayman Islands (31-Aug-2011), Guernsey (29-Jul-2011), and the Falkland Islands (09-Oct-2011).

Note that, in some cases the additional 2012 public holiday is declared on Monday, June 4, 2012, and in other cases on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, depending if the last Monday of May is an annual public holiday.
