(Posted on Saturday, October 15, 2011)

The Government of Hungary has released the final version of the list of official non-working public holidays in Hungary for the calendar year 2012.

A draft version of the aforementioned announvement had been released based upon the recommendation of the Hungarian National Economy Minister, György Matolcsy, last summer (11-Aug-2011). The only change compared to the draft version is the change of the compensation working day for the additional public holiday on April 30, 2012.

As has been the case for the last few years (21-Nov-2010, 29-Sep-2009, 22-Jul-2008, 20-Nov-2007, and 12-Sep-2006), the aforementioned announcement includes the list of bridge, and other one-off, public holidays for the calendar year 2012, along with the list of Saturdays that will be regular working days, in compensation.

As usual, the aforementioned applies to both the private and public sectors ("E rendelet hatálya kiterjed minden munkáltatóra és az általuk foglalkoztatottakra").
