The Chief Minister of India's State of Kerala, Oommen Chandy, has announced that his Cabinet had declared tomorrow, Tuesday, November 1, 2011, as a one-off state public holiday as part of the mourning measures decreed following yesterday's death of Kerala Food and Civil Supplies Minister, T. M. Jacob.
As per the aforementioned announcement, Tuesday, November 1, 2011, has been declared a non-working state public holiday for the entire State of Kerala, while Monday, October 31, 2011, today, will a local holiday in the Ernakulam district.
In related Indian public holidays news, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has confirmed her earlier refusal to declare a gazetted non-working public holiday on November 1, 2011, on the occasion of Chhat festival, and as had been declared by the Mayor of Delhi in India's Capital Territory, Rajni Abbi (22-Oct-2011).
