The Hamas Government of Palestine's Gaza Strip has declared tomorrow, Wednesday, October 19, 2011, as a one-off public holiday to celebrate tomorrow's swap of 477 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier kidnapped in 2006.
Separate reports indicate that 3 days of "celebrations" have been announced in the West Bank, but so far the declaration of non-working public holidays in the West Bank is not confirmed.
