The government of the Indian State of Punjab has announced that Monday, January 30, 2012, would be a one-off state public holiday on account of the upcoming elections to the 117-member state Assembly.
The aforementioned announcement follows a similar announcement, yesterday (23-Jan-2012) by the government of the Indian state of Manipur.
