The Kuwaiti Civil Service Commission has announced that it had declared Thursday, February 2, 2012, as a the non-working public holiday for the upcoming Prophet's Birthday annual public holiday, in replacement of Saturday, February 4, 2012, which falls during the Kuwaiti weekend in 2012.
The aforementioned moving of the date of observance of the Prophet's Birthday annual public holiday in Kuwait has occurred in the past (15-Feb-2011 and 22-Jan-2011), and is a practice that is customary in Kuwait, but which has in the past caused confusion as well as resentment (26-Mar-2008).
