The government of Nepal has announced that the public holiday for the upcoming Maghe Sankranti would be observed on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
The aforementioned Maghe Sankranti, observed across the country. In past years, except last year for unrelated reasons (12-Jan-2011), the Maghe Sankranti was only observed in Western Nepal.
