Senegalese President, Abdoulaye Wade has confirmed that tomorrow, Thursday, January 12, 2012, would be for the first time a non-working public holiday in Sénégal, on account of the Magal de Touba.
Last month (17-Dec-2011), Senegalese President, Abdoulaye Wade, had confirmed that he would issue a presidential decree declaring the Magal de Touba as a new annual non-working public holiday (journée chômée et payée) in Sénégal, as had been widely rumoured (15-Nov-2011) after, earlier last year (22-Jan-2011), he had announced that he would consult with the Prime Minister, Souleymane Ndéné Ndiaye, on the best way to draft a law to finally make the Magal de Touba an annual public holiday in Sénégal.
