The minister of Religious affairs of the Government of Somaliland, Sheikh Khalil Abdilahi Ahmed, has announced that the annual non-working public holidays in Somaliland for the upcoming Eid Ul Fitri (End of Ramadan) public holidays would run for 3 days, from Friday, July 17, until Sunday, July 19, 2015, inclusively.
Although the aforementioned announcement was made by the regional government of Somaliland, due to the de facto lack of a national government in Somalia, this is as close to a national announcement for Somalia as we are likely to get.
Note that, as per the statutes, Somalia only takes a one-day public holiday for the Eid Ul Fitri, while Somaliland extends the Eid Ul Fitri public holidays for a second day.
