Cape Verde Declares April 8 Public Holiday For Pope's Death

The government of Cape Verde has declared a 3-day period of mourning to commemorate the death of Pope John Paul II. In addition, Friday, April 8, 2005, will be a public holiday throughout Cape Verde.
Cape Verde follows the steps of Poland which also declared a public holiday on April 8 on the occasion of Pope John Paul II's passing away (2005-04-05).
