Bahrain 2010 National Day Public Holidays Announced

Bahrain's Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has issued a circular declaring public sector holidays from Wednesday, December 15, until Monday, December 20, 2010 (Muharram 9-14).

The additional public sector holidays on December 19 and 20 are based on the Legislative Decree No.23 of 1976, which declare a day in lieu public holiday to compensate public holidays that fall on a weekend day or another public holiday.

In a separate announcement, the Chief Executive of the Bahrain Association of Banks has announced that it would remain closed from Wednesday, December 15, until Monday, December 20, 2010, but that banks would re-open on December 20.
