The Secretary General of Swaziland's National Association of Teachers (SNAT), Muzi Mhlanga, has called on the Government of Swaziland to declare a new, annual, October 5, non-working public holiday to commemorate International Teachers' Day.

The aforementioned call echoes a recent one made at Ghana's recent 17th annual National Best Teacher Awards ceremony, by Paul Krapah, the Public Relations Officer of Ghana's Ministry of Education (2011-10-08).
