The government of Jordan has announced that Tuesday, August 27, 2013, had been declared a non-working public holiday in Jordan on account of that day's Municipal elections.
Six years ago (2007-07-16), Jordan's then Prime Minister, Marouf Bakhit, had declared Wednesday, July 31, 2007, as a one-off national public holiday throughout Jordan to enable as many people as possible to participate in the upcoming nationwide municipal elections held on that same day.
