The Welfare Ministry of the Government of Latvia has issued a communique reminding the Latvian population that Monday, November 17, 2014, was a one-off bridge public holiday in Latvia.

The aforementioned announcement that Monday, November 17, 2014, was a one-off bridge public holiday in Latvia, is in line with the list of non-working national public holidays in Latvia for the calendar year 2014, released last fall in the Cabinet of Ministers Decree No.278 (25-Oct-2013), and in which the government of Latvia pursued the practice of past years (16-Jan-2013, 04-Jan-2012, 08-Jan-2010, 21-May-2009 and 13-Apr-2007), except for one year (05-Jan-2011), of declaring additional, one-off, bridge public holidays that compensated by the same number of Saturdays being declared as regular working days.
