The chief Minister of the Malaysian State of Perak, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, has announced that, in a reversal of an earlier announcement, the Sultan of Perak had decided that there would not be a state public holiday this November 27 for the Sultan of Perak's birthday, as the birthday of the previous Sultan of Perak had already been observed as a non-working public holiday in Perak earlier this year.
Late last month (2014-10-30), the chief Minister of the Malaysian State of Perak announced that the newly-announced date for the non-working public holiday for the Sultan of Perak's Birthday would be observed beginning in 2014, and not in 2015 as had been expected.
The former Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah, died earlier this year (2014-05-28) and in the Jadual Hari Kelepasan Am Persekutuan 2015 (Federal Public Holidays Schedule 2015) and State Public Holiday Schedule 2015 released later that summer (2014-08-11), the new annual date for the Sultan of Perak's Birthday was set for November 27, albeit beginning in 2015.
