The Director of Civil Affairs Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the government of the Solomon Islands, Robert Farodo, has announced a corrected date for the upcoming Whitmonday annual non-working public holiday in the Solomon Islands.
According to the aforementioned communiqué, “Under the Public Notice number 1 of 2014, National and Provincial Public holidays have already been gazetted in accordance with the schedule to the Public Holidays Act, so Whit Monday in fact falls on Monday the 9th of June and not May.”.
