The government of Suriname, via its Minister of the Interior, Mike Noersalim, has announced that the upcoming "Ied Ul Adha" (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holiday in Suriname would be observed on Monday, September 12, 2016, a date which has been declared a non-working public holiday in Suriname.
The aforementioned announcement ("Dit jaar valt Ied-Ul-Adha (offerfeest) op maandag 12 september. Het gaat om een nationale vrije dag, gelijkgesteld met de zondag.") that Monday, September 12, 2016, has been declared a non-working public holiday in Suriname represents, once again (2015-09-17), a one day shift from the list of expected Suriname public holidays dates for the calendar year 2016, released at the beginning of this year (2016-01-23), which listed Sunday, September 11, 2016, as the expected date for the "Ied Ul Adha" (Feast of Sacrifice) public holiday in Suriname.
