Romanian Public Holiday August 14

(Posted on Friday, July 21, 2017)

Source: Mediafax (Bucharest)

The Romanian Government has announced that Monday, August 14, 2017, had been declared a one-off non-working public sector holiday throughout Romania to link the August 15 public holiday with the preceding weekend.

The aforementioned declaration of Monday, August 14, 2017, as a one-off bridge public holiday in Romania thus amends the lists of public holidays for 2017 in Romania (01-Dec-2016), once more (16-May-2017 and 17-Jan-2017), though only for the Romanian public sector.

As is common in such cases (13-Dec-2013, 14-Aug-2013, 28-Nov-2012 and 26-Apr-2012) when bridge public holidays are declared in Romania, the aforementioned one-off non-working public sector holidays will be compensated by the declaration of the same number of working Saturdays (August 19), or by overtime work to be performed before August 25, 2017.
