Romanian Public Holiday August 14

The Romanian Government has announced that Monday, August 14, 2017, had been declared a one-off non-working public sector holiday throughout Romania to link the August 15 public holiday with the preceding weekend.

The aforementioned declaration of Monday, August 14, 2017, as a one-off bridge public holiday in Romania thus amends the lists of public holidays for 2017 in Romania (2016-12-01), once more (2017-05-16 and 2017-01-17), though only for the Romanian public sector.

As is common in such cases (2013-12-13, 2013-08-14, 2012-11-28 and 2012-04-26) when bridge public holidays are declared in Romania, the aforementioned one-off non-working public sector holidays will be compensated by the declaration of the same number of working Saturdays (August 19), or by overtime work to be performed before August 25, 2017.
