Zambia Declares July 2 and 7 Public Holidays For Kenneth Kaunda

Zambia's President, Edgar Lungu, has declared Friday, July 2, and Wednesday, July 7, 2021, as non-working public holidays in Zambia, to coincide with the upcoming state memorial service, and then state funeral and burial, of former President Kenneth Kaunda.

In the past decade, Zambia has often declared one-off non-working public holidays on the occasion of the funeral of past presidents and prime ministers (2014-11-01, 2011-06-24, 2008-12-14, 2008-11-04, and 2008-08-26).
