The Secretary to the Sri Lankan Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, has issued a circular declaring Monday and Tuesday, April 11 and 12, 2022, as public holidays to link the upcoming weekend with the subsequent annual Sinhala and Tamil New Year public holidays of Sri Lanka.

The declaration of Monday and Tuesday, April 11 and 12, 2022, as public holidays, thus amends the official list of Sri Lankan public holidays for the calendar year 2022 as announced last summer (2021-07-06), in a manner similar to last year's announcement (2021-04-09).
