There are extremely rare cases of grids which combine both 5-week and 6-week mini-calendars.
But the main use of the 5-week override modifier is to correctly display 5 week vertical mini-calendar dates, when you may be using a 4-week mini-calendar, a 5-week mini-calendar and a 6-week mini-calendar together with different tab positions to have the first and last weeks of all mini-calendars justified or aligned, as in the example below.

Note that this modifier cannot be used to specify the type of 23/30 and 24/31 handling; this must be setup in the mini-calendar options, even though you have unchecked the Minical has only 5 weeks checkbox.
