South Korea Election Day Public Holiday

(Posted on Thursday, December 21, 2006)

Source: The Chosun Ilbo (Seoul)

The next presidential election will occur on December 19, 2007. This will be a partial public holiday.

Government offices will be closed, and most businesses will either close, or will give 2-3 hours to their employees to go and vote.

However, contrary to what happened last time (16-Mar-2004), this will not be a nationwide compulsory public holiday.
