Argentina's President, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, has signed executive decree No. 67/2010 which specifies that the next national census will take place on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, and that that date will be a national non-working public holiday (la fecha será declarada feriado nacional).

The last such census, officially called the "Censo Nacional de Población, Hogares y Viviendas", was held in November 2001.
