Argentina's Interior Minister, Florencio Randazzo, has announced that the Executive had sent a bill to Congress to declare Monday, May 24, 2010, a one-off public holiday on the occasion of Argentina's bicentennial.

A couple of months ago, as the annual public holiday on May 25, 2010, falls on a Tuesday, Argentina's President, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, had indicated (25-Jan-2010) that her government planned to declare Monday, May 24, 2010, as an additional bridge public holiday.

Recently, the mayor of Mar del Plata, had met with Argentina's Interior Minister, Florencio Randazzo, yesterday, to join his voice to the chorus of politicians asking him to enact a one-off public holiday on Monday, May 24, 2010 (11-Mar-2010).
