Bhutanese 2010 Public Holidays Announced

The Royal Civil Service Commission of the Government of Bhutan has released its official list of public holidays for the year 2010.

The announced list of 2010 public holidays in Bhutan confirms last year's re-instatement of the Thrue Bab (Blessed Rainy Day) national public holiday (16-Sep-2009) that had been canceled a few years ago (03-Jan-2007).

Despite a lot of discussion concerning the other public holiday canceled at the same time (29-Jul-2009), the Nyenpa Guzon holiday (aka. Ngyenpa Guzom, or Meeting of the Nine Evils), public holiday does not appear in the aforementioned list of public holidays.

The list of 2010 public holidays in Bhutan does not mention any special public holidays that might be declared for the upcoming SAARC Summit (30-Aug-2009), although we expect that one of these dates will eventually be declared a one-off public holiday.
