India Extends January 30 Public Holiday To Himachal Pradesh

The government of India's State of Himachal Pradesh has declared Saturday, January 30, 2010, as a gazetted holiday, instead of the previously announced restricted holiday, on account of Guru Ravi Dass Birthday.

This extended public holiday will apply to the employees working in all Government Offices, Boards, Corporations, and Educational Institutions in Himachal Pradesh, as well as the private sector by virtue of it also having been declared a holiday under Section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act of 1881 applying to daily wage employees.
