Liberia Declares Tomorrow A Public Holiday

(Posted on Wednesday, November 3, 2010)

Source: The Inquirer (Monrovia)

Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has issued a proclamation declaring tomorrow, Thursday, November 4, 2010, as National Thanksgiving Day to be observed throughout the Republic as a national non-working public holiday.

The first Thursday of November was set aside as an annual public holiday by an Act of the National Legislature at its Session of 1833, but such last-minute re-confirmation of annual public holidays are a staple of the Liberian public holidays calendar (23-Jul-2010 and 08-Apr-2010).
