Poland Epiphany Public Holiday Update

(Posted on Saturday, November 6, 2010)

Source: Polskie Radio (Warsaw)

The Polish Employers' Federation has appealed to the Polish President, Bronislaw Komorowski, to ask him not to sign into law the recent law restoring the Epiphany public holiday.

Last September (24-Sep-2010), the Polish Parliament approved an amendment to the Labour Law and Bill on Holidays, which re-established Epiphany as an official non-working public holiday, after many years of discussions on the matter (19-Apr-2009, 27-Jun-2008, 22-Sep-2008, and 17-Oct-2008).
