The Chief Minister of the government of Malaysia's State of Perak, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, has announced that the Perak government had declared a one-off non-working public holiday in Malaysia's State of Perak on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, on account of the upcoming coronation of Sultan Nazrin Shah as the 35th Sultan of Perak.

One-off state public holidays in Malaysia are often declared for football and sports-related events (2014-11-02, 2013-11-01, 2013-10-30, 2013-06-13, 2012-10-15, 2012-07-18, 2012-05-14, 2011-11-21, 2011-06-13, 2011-06-11, 2010-12-30, 2010-12-29, 2010-10-30, 2009-11-04,...), but also for elections (2015-04-27, 2014-09-15, 2013-05-04, 2013-05-03, 2013-04-26, 2013-04-24, and 2013-04-18) as well as for coronations and events related to each state's Sultan (2015-03-15, 2014-11-12, 2014-05-28, and 2013-05-13).
