The InDesign Menu, accessible from the main menu, features shortcuts to all the InDesign related functionality of Q++Studio.

 

Launch InDesign

(no file)

Launches InDesign without trying to open a file. Useful if you then wish to create a new InDesign File. The version of InDesign launched, if you have more than one version installed on your machine, is determined by your selection in the InDesign Preferences.

Open an InDesign File

Same as above, but first displays a dialog to let you choose the file to open using InDesign.

Search for an InDesign File

Opens the Find File Dialog with the search field preset to search for InDesign files on your LAN and/or WAN server(s).

Convert InDesign files to PDF

Displays a file open dialog to let you choose the InDesign file(s) to convert to PDF. This is the exact same menu item as also appears on the PDF menu, and it appears twice for your convenience.

Open InDesign Non-Dated Pages

Displays a sub-menu listing the InDesign non-dated files used by the current script, from which you can directly select one of the files to open in InDesign.

Open InDesign GridTemplates

Displays a sub-menu listing the InDesign GridTemplate files used by the current script, from which you can directly select one of the files to open in InDesign.

Open a Recently Scanned GridTemplate

Displays a sub-menu listing the InDesign GridTemplate files used by the current script, from which you can directly select one of the templates to be re-scanned using InDesign.

Open the Main Output File (INDD)

Opens the current script's main output file using the version of InDesign determined by your selection in the InDesign Preferences.

Open the Main Output File (PDF)

Opens the PDF version of the current script's main output file using the default program associated with PDF files on your workstation.

Convert Main Output File to PDF

Converts the current script's main output file to PDF, using the current script's default PDF output style (in none is currently selected, then a dialog will come up, asking you to select one).

Open InDesign Sections Output Files

Displays a sub-menu listing the sections output files of the current script, from which you can directly select one of the files to open in InDesign.

Re-Inspect Non-Dated InDesign File

Displays a sub-menu listing the InDesign non-dated script lines of the current script, from which you can directly select one of these script lines to be re-inspected using InDesign.

Re-Inspect All Non-Dated InDesign Files

Automatically re-inspects all the InDesign files used by all the InDesign non-dated script lines of the current script.

Scan new InDesign template

Displays a file open dialog to let you choose a file to scan as a new InDesign template.

Re-Scan Current InDesign Template

Displays a sub-menu listing the templates of the current script which use an InDesign file, from which you can select one of these to be to re-scanned using InDesign.

Re-Scan all InDesign Templates

Automatically re-scans all the templates of the current script which use an InDesign file, using InDesign.

Update all missing InDesign files

Automatically runs through all the current script's templates and non-dated pages, and uses the search for an InDesign file tool to update any script line whose underlying InDesign file cannot be found.

Re-Scan/Inspect all InDesign files

Automatically runs the menu sequence Re-Scan all InDesign Templates followed by Re-Inspect All Non-Dated InDesign Files.

List Unused InDesign Templates

Opens the unused templates report but limited to templates based on an InDesign file. For the same report, including both QuarkXPress and InDesign files, select the unused templates report at the bottom of the data menu or the admin menu.

List Unused Non-Dated InDesign Files

Opens the unused non-dated pages report but limited to non-dated pages based on an InDesign file. For the same report, but including QuarkXPress, InDesign and PDF files, select the unused templates report at the bottom of the data menu or the admin menu.

InDesign Tools

Displays a sub-menu listing the InDesign section of the tools menu.

Templates Manager

Opens the Templates Manager.
